Logistics 3PLInside ENCO: Greek international road freight forwarding
ENCO is a Greek international road freight forwarder, formed by the consolidation of established carriers from the Greek transport market into a single pan-European operation. The business runs scheduled lines across Eastern Europe, Southern Europe, Germany, and Benelux from headquarters in Sindos near Thessaloniki and a branch in Athens, handling around 15,000 loadings and 80,000 annual shipments through LTL, FTL, dangerous-goods, and cross-docking services. Engagements of this shape, where multi-line international road freight, European EDI partner integration, time-critical warehouse operations, and Greek statutory compliance all land in the same back office, are exactly what Existanze's implementation practice is built for. Our methodology rests on fifteen years of systems-integration work and a portfolio of Odoo modules we author and maintain in-house, including the bespoke module work that lands wherever the standard Odoo surface needs to be extended. ENCO chose Existanze to build that operating platform end-to-end on Odoo.
Pan-European road freight on Odoo with a bespoke transport platform and Greek MyData
ENCO runs on Odoo Enterprise across Sales, Purchase, Inventory, and Accounting, with a bespoke transport layer we authored on top to model the actual operating reality of an international road freight forwarder. Sales and Purchase carry the commercial and subcontracting sides of the business, Inventory carries the warehouse and cross-dock operations, and Accounting carries the financial picture; the freight itself sits in the bespoke layer above those four standard surfaces.
The transport layer carries consignments, sublots, cargo lines, trailers, depots, dangerous-goods classifications, vehicle types, and a pricing intelligence engine that drives spot offers and freight quotations against the network's own cost data. CMR international waybills, AVIS delivery notifications, loading orders, insurance orders, and bilingual spot offers print directly out of the same system, every document carrying the operational state behind it rather than being typed into a separate template.
Around the platform, two integration surfaces matter for an international forwarder. We integrated ENCO with European partners over the standard road-freight EDI messaging set: booking and instructions inbound, status updates outbound, every consignment one record on the same canonical data model regardless of which partner sits on the other side. We also automated proof-of-delivery intake from FTP and SFTP folders with OCR and barcode reading, so scanned PODs match themselves back to pickings without manual filing. Warehouse cross-docking runs on a custom barcode scanning interface tuned to the actual hub workflow, with grouped picking lines, payment-method capture at scan time, and label printing wired through.
The Greek-statutory layer is delivered on our EXN Greek Localization and EXN AADE MyData modules, with every transaction submitted to AADE in real time on the document classification codes the regime requires, and with road-transport-aware delivery notes wired into MyData so the freight itself produces compliant e-delivery records rather than a parallel paper trail. Intrastat is configured for the EU cross-border footprint that an international forwarder of this shape inevitably generates.
Our operation runs on consignments, sublots, trailers, depots, partner exchanges, and a pile of documents that all need to agree with each other. Existanze built us one platform that holds the freight, the documents, the partner integrations, and the Greek compliance side, so the network runs on one source of truth.

A flagship Greek road-freight forwarding reference on Odoo
For other prospects evaluating Odoo for a serious freight-forwarding footprint, the ENCO engagement is a reference point. A Greek pan-European road freight network running its operational, integration, and Greek-compliance surfaces from one Odoo platform, with the transport domain authored as bespoke modules under the EXN umbrella rather than forced into a generic stock or sale shape, is what serious modern road freight on Odoo actually looks like.
We are systems-integration experts and long-term Odoo partners. We use Odoo as the key business framework for our systems deployability and integration work, providing businesses with a holistic environment to achieve across the board organization transparency.
